Gordon C. Peterson Receives the Peter Bluokus Volunteer of the Year Award!

We are pleased to announce that Gordon accepted this award for his dedication to the Marquette County Junior Golf Association. Gordon volunteers each week during the season as the Starter for both the 9-hole and 5-hole divisions. He is dedicated to making sure the golfers practice good etiquette and is outstanding at keeping things running on time. We appreciate the time and effort he puts in for the organization each week. Congratulations Gordon!

Receiving honorable mention for their volunteerism is Kathy Daust and Mark Kugler.

 

Congratulations to our Finalists!

We had a beautiful sunny day for the Finals competition. Congratulations to those that qualified and also those who participated in the Skills competition. Finals Results and Skills Contest Results have been posted. Thank you very much to all of the volunteers that helped make the day a success!

Occasionally there is an error/typo on the score spreadsheet. If you see an error, please contact Angela at angemason@chartermi.net to correct it. We keep the original score cards for verification.

Change in Medals

This year golfers will start earning medals starting in Week 3. The first two week’s scores will be used to obtain averages for assigning golfers to their proper flight. The top scores will still be published in the Mining Journal for weeks 1-2. Also, a third place medal will be awarded for weeks 3-5 and medals will be given to the 3rd and 4th place winners in week 6.

Scholarships

The MCJGA is excited to announce they will be offering scholarships starting with the class of 2010. In order to be eligible for the scholarships, golfers must have participated in the MCJGA Summer Golf Program a total of three years, with one of the years being in their sophomore or junior year of High School.
